Northshore of Lodi Lake on the Mokelumne River was pretty quiet until a group of kids showed up with their dogs, three pitbulls that had been abandoned and taken to a shelter, where they learn to behave themselves. The boy in the green shirt said that 93% of the dogs that go through the shelter's program are 'humane.' That is, they get along with humans at a higher percentage than other dogs. I wasn't going to argue with him since I'm not a really good shot with my pepper spray.
It was cloudy and had rained a bit before we left to find something to photograph and were surprised to see some sunshine and great cloud designs as we drove north. Then it clouded over again in a few hours.
