Wow! Another day of fog in the Valley, but the birds are in great numbers, including about 2-3 dozen Bufflehead seen on the pond south of the boardwalk at the Preserve. They are curious little ducks that display unusual landing, swim speed and interactive traits. Fun to watch. After the Preserve, I drove out Woodbridge Road where there are still many Sandhill cranes, Snow geese and egrets. Didn't see any herons today, though. One Belted kingfisher, maybe two. Heard the first Marsh wren of the year on the boardwalk of the Preserve, but he didn't want to pose for me.
