This was our first ride on the excursion train that leaves Old Sacramento at the train station and travels south along the Sacramento River for a few miles before stopping to be pulled by the engine on the other end of the passenger cars.

Not as scenic as the Jamestown Sierra Railway, if there are boats on the river and cyclists zipping by, it makes it more enjoyable.

Be sure to ride in the open cars if it it's hot!
