The fog finally disappeared after a brief storm blew through yesterday. I didn't have much time to shoot at the Cosumnes Preserve before heading back for Barb's traditional Christmas breakfast - biscuits and bacon gravy. Yum!

Very few birds out. Didn't see one egret. Cormorants sunning. Red-shafted flicker on his favorite perch (saw one there a few years ago, also). Song sparrows.

Fun meeting a fellow photog, Armand, who was looking for sandhill cranes. I gave him a few ideas (hope he didn't get lost). Armand is a photojournalist, wedding photographer and a wildlife shooter among other vocations. He came to America from Czechoslovakia in the mid 1980's and has a wonderful story to tell.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
