A low fog greeted the half dozen vehicles on Staten Island Road at sunrise this morning. Today is the Sandhill Crane Festival in Lodi, and there will be more birders than usual visiting all the preserves this weekend. The photographers had their big 600mm guns out. Sorry, but I can't compete. The best shooting on this road is 'Drive-by' photography. Just stay in your car or truck and go for it. The cranes will stay closer if they don't see you on two legs.
