After yesterday's big rain, I headed to the Preserve, hoping for some clouds with color at sunrise. It was a pretty wonderful display, and I wasn't disappointed. There were a few sandhill cranes close enough to shoot, which is always a challenge when they fly out. Most of my shots weren't in focus, as usual.
I enjoyed shooting this egret, but took way too many pictures of him. Be thankful you're only seeing a few!
I also had the honor to meet fellow-shooter Tim and had a good talk about the bird world and gear. Good meeting you, Tim!
I then drove down Woodbridge Road for a few field/cloud and blue heron shots.
Then I drove out to the end of Eight Mile Road, where there were five swans a swimming.
The air was very clear after this rain, and the colors weren't muddy like they can be.
Over 500 photos and the processing took me most of the day, but I'm happy with the results.
