With the Fall Color challenge for October in the forefront, I pointed my car to Woodbridge Road for the first time this season. The ducks, geese and Sandhill cranes are returning to the crane refuge. Not much going on yet. A few photos were there before me, sporting their tripods and $10,000 gear. Thankfully, photographers are friendly no matter how much they've paid for their stuff.

I put the macro lens to use at Cosumnes. The cottonwoods have only started turning yellow, but the wild grape, poison oak, poplars and oak trees are turning.
