Thanksgiving morning is the perfect time to grab the gear and head to my favorite Sandhill crane opportunities. I pretty much have Staten Island Road to myself (only one other vehicle in over an hour). Grazing cows on the west side, and flooded fields with cranes on the east. I wanted some silhouette shots with some sunrise color and was thankful to get it. The Cosumnes River Preserve's north/boardwalk parking lot had a few cars and some fellow shooters. Nothing much going on, looking for that bald eagle that is still here (was on Desmond Road at sunrise, but flew west before I arrived).
