The Stockton, CA Swing Band, "In the Mood" evolved from the San Joaquin County Sheriff's SOB's organized in 1980 by Jack Turturici, Mike Easu, and Randy Loh, along with help from the former Stagg High School Band Director, Jim Urbani. By the mid 1980's, Jack and Mike wanted to play for special events, dance clubs and parties. So with the help of former bandleader, Jack Hanna, they joined the Stockton Musicians Association and formed the 17-piece Big Band known as "In the Mood." The Band specializes in Swing, Jazz and Ballroom Style Music.
Following the Swing Music and Dinner, the Lodi Community Band performed under the direction of Art Holton, Conductor. The program included medleys highlighting Henry Mancini, Duke Ellington, Ira and George Gershwin, Harry James and Louis Armstrong.
This event (an annual fund raiser for the Lodi Community Band) was held at the Lodi American Legion Hall, May 31, 2014.
