Heading east on Hwy 120 from Hwy 99, the road crosses the Stanislaus River in Oakdale and then roughly parallels it to Knight's Ferry, which is a major river rafting starting point. Hwy 120 leads to Sonora in the Gold Country or Yosemite.

The river is interrupted just east of Knight's Ferry at Lake Tullock and then again at New Melones Lake. These first pictures were taken a few miles below Lake Tullock, with expansive, rocky bluffs towering on the north and south.

The remaining photos were taken at Knight's Ferry, where folks camp, fish, picnic and swim (at their own risk).
