The local fish hatchery is about a 25 minute drive northeast of us on the Mokolumne River. We hadn't visited in over 30 years and were able to take Angel with us for an afternoon of exploration and excitement.
We were late getting back from our riverwalk jaunt and were locked in for the night! They padlock the gates to the the river at 2:30 and it was a little after 3:00 when we tried to return to the hatchery.
I climbed the fence and finally found the caretaker who was used to bailing people out of our predicament.
We celebrated our release by having some ice cream at MacDonalds in Lodi.
