This weekend celebrates birds in a big way. Volunteers head to their backyards or boonies and start counting.
http://www.birdsource.org gives you all the details.
Our expedition at Lodi Lake was an uninsipiring trek at best. Run of the mill collection of 13 species, including common coot, gulls, snow and canada geese, bushtits, swallows, red-shafted flickers, woodpeckers, finches, crows, robins, and red tree squirrels! Not much to write home about. And very few pictures of birds. You'll only see one here.
But we had a great lunch afterwards to celebrate.
