The annual Black Bart Days is celebrated on Sutter Creek's main drag --- a long, one block collection of 19th century architecture and store fronts. Live entertainment includes singing, shootouts, holdups, and gold/gem panning. This is the perfect recipe for those little cowboys and cowgirls who want the taste of real action and the smell of real gunpowder.

While not a fan of glorifying drinking, carousing and robbery, the main theme of the good guys decimating the big, mean and ugly no-gooders.

The re-enactors came from various places, including Sacramento and Antioch. Thanks especially to "Rose" who let me take a few portraits of her.
